Smidgin is made using sustainable production with hand-foraged wild juniper berries and mountain tea. Our pure copper still is gently heated in an energy-efficient water bath reducing our carbon footprint.

SOURCING THE BEST JUNIPER BERRIES
At Smidgin we don’t buy dried juniper from international wholesalers, we source our juniper directly from the pickers who work on the mountain slopes.

The freshly picked berries are brought to our distillery and then checked for quality and ripeness.
Only the very best fresh juniper berries are used for distillation and combined in our hand-made copper still, providing the highest levels of flavour and purity and this is what makes Smidgin so delicious.

USING THE FINEST FRESH BOTANICALS
Our botanical ingredients are fresh and full of essential oils, wild Macedonian juniper and mountain tea, shaved angelica root, coriander seeds, whole bark from cinnamon trees in Sri Lanka, fragrant cloves from India, fresh almonds. Our citrus; lemon, lime, grapefruit, and orange are carefully hand-peeled and only the outer skin is used in distillation. We add a few raisins for a touch of sweetness and freshly chopped ginger root and whole black peppercorns for spiciness and depth of character.

Smidgin is distilled and bottled in the historic MCM building in the heart of Skopje,
The MCM is a recognizable landmark, fitted-out for craft production using a traditional copper alembic still, with bottles carefully filled and labeled by Smidgin's personal distillers.
